Behold, All Things Are Become New

I was thinking the other day about this girl who I went to school with. Now for people who don't know me let me give you a little history about myself. I did not go to a Christian school, but a public school. There was only one Christian school but it would have been a drive to get there. Even if I didn't go to a Christian school I still was surrounded by good teachers. Teachers who would quote verses from the Bible and tell Bible stories to us. I was raised in the country and I wouldn't have it any other way. My mom would have loved for me to go to a Christian school, so I could have had classes that revolved around the Bible, because I love the Bible so much.

So anyways back to this story about the girl from my school. I had never met her until I went to junior high (that's when the four elementary schools in the county would go together). She would have her good days and she would have her bad days. Sometimes she was really nice and other times she was really mean! Something changed when we went on to high school though. She asked Jesus to come into her heart and she had really CHANGED! She was so nice and in the mornings some of the kids would go to the library to have prayer before school started. If it wasn't me leading the prayer she would lead the prayer. She was really a testament to the verse in 2 Corinthians 5:17!!!

Note: My senior year of high school there was a Christian school that opened up not to far from my house, but it was my senior year and I decided I needed to finish my schooling with my friends.

Rainbows

Kristi over at Thimble Thoughts was talking about that rainbow today in her blog. A couple of weeks ago when we had a bad storm, after the storm was over there appeared a rainbow in the sky. Not only one rainbow but two! Every time I see a rainbow, I'm in awe of the beauty of it. Also I always think of the promise God made never to destroy the whole world with water again as in Noah's day.

Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Genesis 9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

Genesis 9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

The photos are from my friend. These were taken after the storm. In the first one if you look to the left of the rainbow, you can see a rainbow that is not very bright. If I hadn't been so crazy I would had a better photo to share with you that I had taken with my phone, but I accidentally discarded the photo. The photo I had taken you could see both rainbows really well.

Fairness Doctrine

I received an e-mail about this the other night. I didn't know whether to believe it or not. So I just left it in my inbox. Yesterday when I was with my friend I was waiting in their car scanning through the radio stations and came across a radio station talking about the Fairness Doctrine. When I came home I finally found the Twitter account of the the guy who was talking about it on the radio. He stated on his Twitter that President Obama said he would not reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, but whose to say he won't change his mind. The Fairness Doctrine would take our rights of freedom of speech across radio and television away from us. Here is a link to a petition to stop the Fairness Doctrine.

Instead He gave His life for me

He doesn't hand out fancy gifts

like we would send to mother.

Instead He sends a message clear

to always love each other.

He doesn't give me teddy bears

that whimper, "Please be mine."

Instead He gave His heart to me

I wear it all the time.

He doesn't give me roses, pink

for all the world to see.

Instead He gave eternal life

that's good enough for me.

Fireproof

Last night I watched a great movie. The makers of Fireproof and Facing The Giants really know how to make good movies. And Kirk Cameron was icing on the cake. To tell the truth, I've watched Kirk Cameron in other movies and TV sitcoms but this is the best I've ever saw him perform. Even if this movie may be directed to married people it is still a good movie for single people too. Fireproof has the elements of action, humor, and drama all rolled into one, but more importantly God shines through the whole movie. I've watched other love stories and this is the first one I've ever cried during. This is a five star Christian movie.

Friends (who are like family) and Family!!!

Yesterday we had thunderstorms and really bad winds. Well our electric went out and I wasn't getting a very good signal on my cellphone at our house and my niece was text messaging me like crazy asking about tornado warnings. My dad had a signal on his cell out on our porch, so I sent my niece a message off his phone. My mom needed to pick some items up from the store, so we left a little earlier to go to the store then we were headed to church. (Note: The storm was over, but the wind was still blowing.)

As soon as we hit the highway my cellphone and my dad's cellphone started to go off. My dad gave me his phone to send text messages to my niece. I took his phone, then looked at my phone. I had a text message from my cousin Marcy asking how we were doing. She said that they had trees that had fell down around their house. After texting my niece a bunch of times I finally was able to send Marcy a text to let her know we were OK and didn't have electric. We went to one store then on our way to the other store my phone starts ringing. It was my friend Trish (who is like a sister to me) she said that her mom wanted her to get a hold of us and let us know that they had cancelled church.

I was a little upset and I told Trish that I wanted to go to church because they had electric. Trish told me that we could come to her apartment but she didn't have cable, but we could play Wii. Trish must have been on her land line with her mom because then she said that her mom said we could come to her house. After we went to the store we decided to go to Trish's mom's house. So we hung out there until 9pm and watched TV and had cherry pie!!!!

Every night when I thank God for all my blessings I always remember to thank him for my friends who are like family and for my family members. Thanks to Marcy for checking to see if we were OK. For a little humor about the whole situation, me and my dog slept in our living last night because he is afraid of the dark. Then when the electric came back on about 4:30am, I sent him out to go bathroom and put him in the bathroom where he sleeps. Then I decided since I missed reading my Bible and devotional for yesterday, well just say I was reading it between 4:45am to 5:30am.

God on the Mountain

The other night when we were coming home from my friend Buck's church. We were listening to The Cruz Boys sing "God on the Mountain." I always did like how they sung it. I don't know if they could sing it like they use too because three of the boys have grown up and they probably couldn't hit their high notes now. The other Cruz Boy was the boys' dad. I wish I could share their version of the song, but I only have the song on a tape. I found another video on YouTube of the song though.

Psalm 139:3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

In the first verse of the song it says we are never alone. And Psalm 139:3 says God knows when I lie down and he knows my ways. So if you ever feel alone, remember God is with you in the valleys and on the mountain tops.
