Are You A Leaning Tower???

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Yesterday I talked a little about The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Today I want to bring out how The Leaning Tower of Pisa reminds me of people today. If we look through spiritual eyes at the tower we could see someone that has leaned to their own understanding. They might have put their trust in a person or what the world has to offer. As of right now that person that is representing a leaning tower will eventually fall. That is why we need to trust in God and not man.

Psalm 118:8 says this...

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118:8

Seeking A Strong Tower For Refuge

My dad has a nursing home service once a month. My dad ask me if I would speak at the service that was Tuesday. So I did, I read Psalm 61:1-4 and spoke a little about those verses. After we came home I started to think more in depth on verse 3.

Psalm 61:3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Here is another verse that came to my mind...

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

I thought about how the strong tower is a refuge from our enemies. When we as Christians are spiritually down we need a safe place to go to and a hiding place. If I ever need a refuge from the enemy I want to be in a strong tower. The Leaning Tower of Pisa to me personally does not look very safe. One reason because it is leaning, I'm just stating the facts. But isn't it wonderful to know that we have a strong tower that we can run to.

Psalm 18:2 says...

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God; my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 18:2

So not only do we have a strong tower, but we have a high tower we can run to.

Dead Woman Comes Back Alive

This story has been big news in are area. A lady in West Virginia had three heart attacks and was already showing signs of being dead. Her family prayed and turned it all over to God. The nurses took her off life support and ten minutes later she came back alive. Since all this happened (about four weeks ago) Val Thomas has spoken at her church and been on the local Christian television station. Also they checked her heart and she has no signs of blockage. All I can say is, "Look what the Lord has done."

He's an Angel....

I just went in to tell my nephew and niece good night. And I started to say good night Dalton, but all I got out was "good..." Then I looked at his sister and ask her if he was already asleep and she said yep. I tried to wake him up to tell him good night but he is knocked out. He looked so cute sleeping, like a little angel. I'm enjoying the moment because tomorrow he'll be everything but an angel. LOL!!!

It was sad news to hear that Tim Russert died. I really never have watched Meet The Press, but I've seen him on The Today Show some.
