The 6th Day of the 25 Days of Christmas

That Night
by: Christina Rosetti

That night when shepherds heard the song of angelic host caroling near;
A deaf man turned in slumbers spell and dreamed that he could hear.

That night when in the cattle stall slept mother and child in humble fold,
A cripple turned his twisted limbs and dreamed that he was whole.

That night when over the new born babe a tender mother rose to lean,
A loathsome leper smiled in sleep and dreamed that he was clean.

That night when to the mother's breast the little king was held secure,
A harlot slept a happy sleep and dreamed that she was pure.

That night when in the manger lay the Holy One who came to save,
A man turned in the sleep of death and dreamed there was no grave.

The 5th Day of the 25 Days of Christmas

Last night I went to the Free Christmas Gift to Portsmouth, which is a free Christmas concert. I went last year and decided that I wanted to go again this year. It is an awesome concert. My favorite group is Art and Jeff Bush (father and son) and Tracey Tooley. Jeff sings this song called Matthew's Begats and it is so funny watching him as he sings it. Jeff told everyone that when you read the Christmas story that you should read Matthew 1 to your children on Christmas and make sure you pronounce all the names right, LOL!!! Well I found this other guy singing the Matthew's Begats song on YouTube and I thought I would share it with you. Enjoy!!

The 3rd Day of the 25 Days of Christmas

For some reason I don't cry very much like women are suppose too. I've been known to hold the tears back because I haven't wanted people to see me cry. The other day I heard my mom tell someone that my dad wipes tears from his eyes when we watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition. She says he has a tender heart. So sure enough Sunday night while we were watching it, I caught him wiping tears away.

After we watched that we watched The Christmas Shoes. I had seen the play some years ago and last year was the first year I had seen the movie all the way through. My dad had to go to bed early because he had to work and my mom fell asleep while I was watching it. So close to the end when the little boy was buying the shoes, I started to cry. I thought, oh well no one is watching. Boy was I wrong, I turned and saw my mom with her eyes opened. I said, "this seat should be called the crying seat (it was the seat my dad was setting in when he was watching TV)." I told my mom that the movie really got me right here and I patted my heart. So here is the whole song of The Christmas Shoes.

The 2nd Day of the 25 Days of Chirstmas

Christmas time can be a hard time of the year for some. Memories of loved ones who have passed come to our minds. I read this poem and if made me think of my loved ones.

Merry Christmas From Heaven

I know that Christmas Day is coming,
And you love this time of year.
I'll be spending it in Heaven,
So, there's no need to shed a tear.

I wish that I could tell you
What it's like in glory land.
With those who've come before me,
I'm teaching all the carols to the angel band.

I've got my gifts already
A new body free from pain.
That old leg brace that used to help me
I'll never need it again.

It will not be much longer
Until you can see it too.
Just remember that I love,
And am waiting here for you.

Until we meet together,
In this happy, blessed place.
And you talk about a Christmas,
Wait till you see HIM face to face!

The 1st Day of the 25 Days of Christmas

I'm going to try to post something everyday. For the next 25 days. I was reading last night that we should have a day for commemorating the birth of our Savior. Whether the birth of Jesus happened on the 25th of December is not what's important. We should not argue over the day, because we would miss the real meaning of Christmas. And that meaning is Heaven stooped low enough to earth for man to touch Heaven. I thought that was so beautiful when I read it and I thought I would share it.

One of my favorite songs, sung by Wade Spencer is "He's Not Just For Christmas." This song was wrote by his sister Geniece Spencer Ingold. It is a beautiful song. I'm going to try to type the whole song out. I'm going off my memory though.

He's Not Just For Christmas
wrote by: Geniece Spencer Ingold

Christmas is the time when the Christ child's on our minds,
And families get together bringing gifts all ribbon tied.
But when the season is over and the hollies put away.
Don't let go of the spirit, hold the truth, the life, the way.

Don't put him away with the tinsel and garland.
Don't box him up with your Christmas tree.
Don't lock him away to unpack annually.
But store him in your heart for all the world to see.

He's not just for Christmas, but the whole year through.
And when you keep him close by, there will be no Christmas blues.
So when you pack the manger and the little baby too.
Just remember he is grown up and he died for me and you.

Don't put him away with the tinsel and garland.
Don't box him up with your Christmas tree.
Don't lock him away to unpack annually.
But store him in your heart for all the world to see.

But store him in your heart for all the world to see.
