Thankful...

I have a lot to be thankful for but I won't lie I do get a little frustrated because we have to set a day aside to be. Come on folks we should be thankful every day. OK so I'll get off the soap box and tell you what I'm thankful for.

I'm thankful for God and that I still have my Bible and still attend church. I can see to read that Bible because I was suppose to be blind but God touched and gave healing. My spiritual eyes were also opened and I saw my GREAT need of salvation.

I'm thankful for my family. There is A LOT that I don't like about my family but they are mine. I have the best parents in the world because they let me live here and most parents would say see ya after their child turned 18. And we also have Gizmo (the dog) and that has been a riot, lol. I also have the BEST cousins in the world (Marcy, Brandon, and Jon).

I'm thankful for all the people I've claimed through my life as being my family. If you don't have a lot of people in your family that are Christians, then God seems to makes up the difference by placing people in your life. Like Dad and Mom B. (and I said I wouldn't take no more parents to raise but I did and I love you both) and my little bro Chris (which is not so little because he towers over me). And for all my other extended adopted family.

So as I say good-bye for today, I want to wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

So Much To Thank Him For

I wanted to post a video of Pastor Paul singing "Count Your Blessings" but you couldn't see it because my friend has all their Facebook stuff blocked. So then I tried to find a video on YouTube of someone else singing "Count Your Blessings" but I didn't really like any of them. Then I looked up this song and found Wade Spencer's little brother Kevin singing it. Here's Kevin Spencer and Friends singing "So Much To Thank Him For." Also I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and I'm posting tomorrow too.

Thanks to your son!!! (LOL!!!)

We had one of the strangest things happen to us last night. When we was leaving from Kroger some guy behind us started yelling at us. We couldn't understand what he was yelling. So we just went on. Well when we stopped at the red light he pulled right next to us and my dad actually rolled the window down. The next thing we know the guy said, "Thanks to your son!" OK that had us really confused, my mom said she almost said, "You know my son?" Then it slowly hit us all...

My dad back in June bought our van off of some guy. Well on the back of the van there is a bumper sticker that says, "My Son Is In The U.S. Army." Well the thing is, I have two brothers but neither one is in the army. So even though we have received a really good laugh from the strange guy. We also think that it was a really nice thing that he done, because he wanted to show appreciation to my mom and dad on Veteran's Day for their son! (But really it wasn't their son, lol.)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!! (and I'm back)

Clearly I'm not Catholic but of Irish descent. So when I celebrate St. Patrick's Day it is not how everyone else celebrates it. I enjoy the music, if you think about it, Irish music comes close to bluegrass music (which is one of my favorites). Also I enjoy Irish Step Dancing, I wish I could do it though. I would say I love the food, but we eat potatoes all the time, lol and the last time we had corn beef my mom got really sick. Not from the corn beef though, but she didn't enjoy the smell and we haven't had it since.

I will say that I don't agree with how the day is transformed into one big party. When I think of Patrick, I think he should be honored better then what people honor him with. Really I think God should get all the honor. Here is how I have been looking at Patrick lately. I see someone that is an example of love, because he was captured by some Irish men and held as a servant for six years. He escaped but he felt the calling to go back and help the people.

Wow, haven't I been smacked upside the head. Isn't that what Jesus said though in Luke 6:35, "But love ye your enemies..." It is nice to have people though that truly loves their enemies, because as Christians we are suppose to do this. I have a friend whose sister was murdered and the judge gave them the right to say something to the young man who had done it. He said he sat there arguing with God, there was other things he wanted to say to this guy that killed his sister, but he stood up and said "Jesus loves you and so do I."

"He that loveth not knoweth not God: for God is love." 1 John 4:8

Here is a video of a song called St. Patrick's Breastplate. I really like the part that says Christ be with me, Christ be within me. Christ behind me, Christ before me. Christ beside me, Christ to win me. Christ to comfort and restore me. Christ beneath me, Christ above me. I want Christ to be all around me.

Valentine's Day With Jesus

Valentine's Day With Jesus
By: Marilyn Ferguson

Jesus does not send perfume
to linger in the air.
Instead He sends salvation, sweet
to show how much He cares.

He doesn't bring me candy hearts
in boxes of delight.
Instead He always lets me know
I'm precious in His sight.

He doesn't pass out pretty cards
trimmed in shades of red.
Instead He gave His life for me
His precious blood was shed.

He doesn't hand out fancy gifts
like we would send to mother.
Instead He sends a message clear
to always love each other.

He doesn't give me teddy bears
that whimper, "Please be mine."
Instead He gave His heart to me
I wear it all the time.

He doesn't give me roses, pink
for all the world to see.
Instead He gave eternal life
that's good enough for me.

Hot.....

It is one of those days were it is sort of nice outside, but very hot inside. I wanted to play around on the computer but the heat is getting to me. (And my mom won't turn the air conditioner on.) I will probably retire from the computer and find a cool place to go to. We went earlier and watched my nephew in a karate demonstration and we stopped to get a couple of Hot and Ready pizzas on the way home. So now everyone is relaxing. I hope everyone has a nice weekend and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

My family and I attended our local St. Patrick's Day Parade which was held on March the 15th. This was their second year to have the parade. Here are some photos from the event.
