Rejecting Jesus

I know as soon as someone reads the title of this blog, I have them hooked. Keep reading!!! I just wanted to shock you and then make you want to read it.

I've been reading this book (besides reading another book, plus the Bible) and I ran across this part that said "If we reject Him (Jesus), we reject God." Wow what a powerful statement, for some reason that hit me hard. I mean the Bible says the same thing, just in another way. And I have read it a thousand times over and over. But after reading that line in the book it donned on me and as I said before it hit me hard.

Luke 10:16 says this...
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. (The words of Jesus in red.)

So Jesus said if they despise me then they despise him (God) that sent me. I went to Thesaurus.com and looked up the word despise and another word for despise is reject. If you reject Jesus then you reject God. Wow!!! There are a lot of people who will say they believe in God but want nothing to do with Jesus, so they are rejecting God.

Then this thought came into my head, it was like God was speaking to me. Back in 2001 when I was going back and forth on the matter if I wanted to be a Christian for those 51 days (my blog entitled 51 Days, also known as my Jesus story), I was rejecting Jesus, thus rejecting God. Sometimes I think, what if God had decided to give up on me? Thank God that he didn't but what if he had, I had rejected him everyday by not asking for forgiveness. Then there are the people who say, "oh I'll get saved when I'm older." And the thought comes again they are rejecting Jesus and God because they want to wait. They shouldn't wait because the Bible says, "behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2)." No one should wait to call upon God to save them, take my advice after I ask God to forgive me of my sins and to save me, I felt so much better. Now listen to me, after you get saved life is not going to be a bed of roses, but you will have God to help you through the hard times. Remember if you feel the Holy Spirit knocking on your heart's door don't say you are going to wait, because that means you are rejecting Jesus and God. You might not have another chance to call upon God.

Amen Starla! We are not guaranteed tomorrow. People like to think they have a whole lifetime ahead of them and don't think about the urgency of salvation. It's such sad and distorted thinking.
