Bro. Thomas From Mexico

Bro. Thomas from Mexico preached for us Sunday morning. It was a really great service. Bro. Thomas doesn't speak English so he preached in Spanish and a member of our church translated what he said for us in English. There were a few things that I could understand that he said in Spanish. One thing I did understand, was when Bro. Thomas would say "Amen! Amen!" I'm not for sure, but I didn't know that Amen is the same in English and Spanish, but then again he could have picked that up from an English speaking person. I don't know. His wife also would say Hallelujah.

His main scripture that he preached on was John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. He talked about getting to visit The Creation Museum while he has been here in the states and he said that one person begun the destruction of the earth and that was the devil. He also said that the devil would laugh when he would destroy people, but God would have a remnant that would rise up again. He told about how the devil thought he had everyone turned away from God, but then God told Noah to built an ark. God raised someone up when the devil had destroyed everyone else. One thing that I understood him say in Spanish was he said the word loco, so I had it figured out that he said people thought Noah was crazy for building an ark. Well, when Hector said it in English, I was right. He also read Hebrews 2:14 and Luke 4:17-19. Here is the most powerful statement to me that he said, he told us that the devil is already defeated (and that is true), then he ask why we are defeated by the devil. Because if the devil is already defeated (I've read the back of the book (the Bible) and it says that we win!), then that means the devil is under our feet and I think he said something about stomping on his head.

I was thinking about that statement last night. So I started to sing, I went to the enemy's camp and took back what he stole from me, took back what he stole from me, took back what he stole from me. Well I went to the enemy's camp and took back what he stole from me, now he's under my feet, he's under my feet, the devil is under my feet. When I started to sing it I started to claim people for the Lord. Now don't get me wrong, I don't believe in health and wealth preaching. I'm talking about claiming people's souls. I have also started to thank God for what he is going to do for people that need to be saved in my family. I'm thanking him and telling him that I know he is going to use these people to set others free. A quote that keeps coming to my mind is, what your mind is able to think, your heart is able to believe and the Lord is able to do. I'm believing the Lord is going to set people free.

One more thing I wanted to tell. After church was over I kept wrestling in my mind whether I should ask Enola (the lady who took Bro. Thomas and his family to the different churches) to ask Bro. Thomas to sign my Bible. So I finally made up my mind and I went over and ask Enola if she would ask him to sign my Bible and put his favorite verse. So she did and after he signed my Bible, he left the Bible opened and looked at me and said "Hebreos." I know I probably had the dumbest look on my face so I looked at Enola for some help, so he said it again, "Hebreos" and that second time when he said it I said "Hebrews" right along with Enola. He held his hand out and I shook his hand and said one of maybe twenty words that I know in Spanish, "Gracias." We had three Mexicans come that work at the lumber yard close to town and they were all saved and we had a woman saved and a young girl. My pastor actually said he would like to have Bro. Thomas and his family come back next year sometime and preach a revival and he said we could run an ad in the paper in Spanish to invite the Mexicans that live in the area to come to it. There is also talk that some of the church people wants to go to Mexico to spend a week, some want to brush up on Spanish, others want to just worship and minister to the people in Mexico. I really enjoyed Bro. Thomas.

Starla, the meeting sounded so uplifting! It's always good when we walk away with a burden for souls!!

I have wanted to go to The Creation Museum since it opened. Maybe one day.
