Are You OK???

Last night while reading my Bible I came across these verses. I have read them many times before. But some reason it really got me to thinking about how some people think they are OK, when really they are so far from the truth.

2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

2 Peter 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

2 Peter 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

This may sound mean, but this is what I get from this scripture. Don't waste God's time. If you are going to live any old way don't even bother. As it says, "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness..."

Here is something I also thought about last night. I thought about my grandmother (my dad's mother). Now I know I am not suppose to judge, but her life is what I look at. She use to go to church and now she doesn't. Some may say that she didn't get nothing, but after hearing stories about her life I would say different. It breaks my heart every time I hear someone talk about what she use to be like. I had always knew growing up that she had worked with the youth. Then a few years ago at a funeral service for a dear lady, my grandfather had told a story about my grandmother. On a Wednesday they had church and for some reason my papaw was not going to have a altar call. Well my grandmother insisted that he have a altar call. Well he did and the lady come to altar and got saved. This lady had changed her ways and started raising her family in church and the lady's son become a preacher and now pastors the church close to where I live. And the question goes through my mind, what if my grandmother had not insisted there be an altar call. That lady might have not been saved and her son might not have been called to be a preacher. Also something that I found out a couple of months ago, is my grandmother could quote scriptures. I would love to hear her quote scriptures. Please pray for her.

My prayer is, that if something isn't right in my life that God would reveal it to me. Please God let me never stray from you.

We should all pray to stay close to God. Sadly, there are "used to be" Christians all through our churches today. I often think to myself, "Why are they even at our church?" They just basically sit on the pew while the Pastor is preaching his heart out and nothing every affects them or moves them. But then I think that one day, Lord willing, it will hit them and they will give themselves and their lives to His work.
