Crown of Righteousness

The other night I was looking at my Prophecy Bible and there is a section that shows what crowns will be given to the Christians in Heaven. One of those crowns was the Crown of Righteousness. Under that it said, "For those who love His appearing." and under that it said 2 Timothy 4:8. Which says this....

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:8

Then while reading my Bible I came across these verses in 2 Peter 3:3 and 4. It says this...

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, (v. 3)
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. (v. 4)

So I started to think of Christians who seem to not look forward to Heaven. Trust me, there are actually some people out there who have more desire for self then with being with God (I read a blog). I know you are probably saying that God is with you. Yes, but I'm talking about physically with us, because when we are physically or spiritually (however you want to put it) with God, then that means the devil is not going to be with us. WOOOO!!!! (OK, I'm not really a shouter, but that is as good as my shout will be on a computer.) So any ways back to my main point. When they are passing out crowns in Heaven, could there be actual Christians who might not receive the Crown of Righteousness? Gives everyone something to think about.

I would like to say more about something I thought about the other day on Christians not looking forward to Heaven. But I want to save it, because I plan on posting for a week or so, blogs about Heaven. I might have a few songs about Heaven. I know I will probably have a message to post and a few thoughts from myself. Also in the coming weeks I will post blogs about the cross, that week or how many ever days it will be. It is going to be known as "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" week.

Girl, you're on a roll with these past two blogs...preach it!

I welcome the scoffers...it just means we're closer to home!

We seem to suffer from a lack of an eternal perspective and chose to live in the here and the now, forgetting our real life will begin in heaven when we see Him face to face.

Amen, Starla! I often wonder how Christians can live through these day and times and NOT be excited about looking forward to His return. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I question their salvation. Is it real? Or are they going on "church membership" or the coat tails of religious family roots and therefore have no desire in them to see the Saviour of the world. It is not for me to judge the soul, however, I do worry about those claiming to be a Christian and yet they do not look for His return.
