Where have I been?!?!

Well first I have to say it is good to be back even if I don't know what to blog about today. I haven't been on here for a month and it has been one crazy month. Not really a good crazy but more of a bad crazy with a mixture of good. I know, sort of confusing. I will say that God is good we had a really bad storm in the area and we didn't get hit hard like everyone else around us did.

Here is some of the things that have happened in the last month. On the 27th of June our church association had a parade called "Salute to God and Country" and my grandpa was one of the grand marshals. Really he did end up being the only grand marshal because the lady that was suppose to be the other grand marshal didn't show up. In the picture below is my grandpa testifying or preaching which ever you want to call it, but I say more preaching then testifying.

Also besides that parade our church has a 4th of July parade on the first Wednesday of July and they have hot dogs (YUCK!) afterwards for everyone who comes out. So the photos below are of the float that my church made. Two of the photos are from the "Salute to God and Country" parade and the other one is from the night that our church had their parade.

This might be my only post for this week but don't worry because our camp meeting is next week. I'll post every day telling how each night turns out. I'm praying that we have a wonderful time.

A week or so....

I just wanted to post a quick blog to say I might not be on here for a week or so. My cousin is coming and staying with me for a week. Sometimes my posting blogs take hours to post, because of editing and studying to get all the facts for my blog post. If I post any blogs they will be short or they will be videos. I probably won't be reading very many blogs this coming week. Nothing against anyone, I just want to spend time with my cousin. I do hope he won't be offended if I want to check my Myspace or Facebook account (that is something I have to do everyday, lol). So I'll miss you all, hope you people out there in blog land have a fun week. God Bless!

Book Review

I really love to read. Anyone who has ever been in my bedroom can tell you, I have a lot of books. Last night I came across a book that I have read many times and then it hit me post a review of the book on your blog. Personally I think this book can be enjoyed by men and women. The book can be read at least under an hour depending on how fast you read (which my cousin Marcy could read it in 10 to 15 minutes, lol).

The book starts with a king having a big party. In this book you have a straying husband and a wife who stands up for herself. There is a beauty pageant. There is also hate, pride, and deception. This book is a book of heroes and villains. It also has a love story and there is evil people that are killed and hanged and the good guys prevail. In the end there is celebration, feasting, and giving gifts, a book for everyone. What is this book? Where can you get this book you ask? Well if you have a Bible then this book I'm talking about is the book of Esther located in the Old Testament. I give it a 5 star rating.

Graduation!!!!

Yesterday we went to my adopted niece Olivia's Kindergarten graduation. It was so cute. The only part I didn't like was it was a graduation at a public school and there were over 150 kids which was 9 to 10 different Kindergarten classes. If I was the school I would have a couple of classes at different times during the day to keep it from being so chaotic. Of course Olivia was as cute as ever. We are very proud of her and glad she is part of our family.

Singing in the Shower

This is so true what Bill Gaither says about singing in the shower. If you don't believe me then try it. It sounds so awesome and makes you sound better. I really love the second song they sing, "Great Gettin' Up Morning." Also I got a good laugh from Bill Gaither. It looks like he pulled something while singing. I think it is so funny some of the faces singers make.

The Light and The Shadow

The other day when I was waiting for the church bus to pick me up for Spring Jubilee I was looking through one of my Bibles and ran into a beautiful quote. The quote was made by D. L. Moody. The quote said this...

"The valley of the shadow of death holds no darkness for the child of God. There must be light, else there could be no shadow. Jesus is the light; he has overcome death." D. L. Moody

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;... Psalm 23:4

...I am the light of the world. John 9:5 (This was Jesus speaking.)

If I had never read that quote the other day, I would never thought about it. This is so beautiful because when it comes down to the end of someones life then we don't have to fear. We have someone there even when we feel like it may be dark. In order for there to be a shadow there has to be some source of light and that source of light is Jesus. This is evidence that we always have someone with us.
