Movie Review: "End of the Spear"

Friday night I watched the movie "End of the Spear." I had been wanting to see it for awhile and I finally ask my cousin Marcy to order it for me from Netflix. The movie made me think and challenged me to forgive others. I will say I cried on two different occasions and I am not a crier.

The movie is about Operation Acura, in which five American Christian missionaries attempted to evangelize to the Waodani people of the jungle of Ecuador. The movie tells the story of Mincayani, one of the tribesmen who killed the missionaries, and Steve Saint, the son of one of the missionaries. The two eventually form a bond that continues to this day.

My favorite quote from the movie is, "Son, we can't shoot the Waodani. They're not ready for Heaven, we are." When I heard that quote, I just started to tear up. Also at the end of the movie they show the real Steve Saint and the real Mincayani, when Mincayani came and visited the United States. I loved the little story that Steve Saint told about Mincayani. He said while they were here in the U.S. that they went to the grocery store. When Mincayani went back home he was telling his wife that people in the U.S. doesn't go out and hunt. His wife told him he was crazy and ask how people in the U.S. get food. He went on to tell that we go to big food warehouses and get food. Then he said you go to a line where a young person stands and you smile great big and at first they don't pay attention to you, then they see you and they smile back and then they give you the food. Steve Saint told Mincayani that you had to give the person something in order to get the food and he pulled out his credit card and handed it to the young lady. And Mincayani said, "Oh no, they just give it right back to you." I thought that was so cute, because he thinks we get free food. That would be nice, wouldn't it? LOL!!!

I have not blogged since the other day (September the 11th) and I haven't read any blogs for a few days. I haven't been feeling well. I've been having light headed spells and they seem to be the worse when I am on the computer or I'm walking around. Please say a little prayer for me. Thanks!!!

Brandon and I watched it yesterday. Oh my goodness, what a good movie...I loved it! Brandon liked it too.

I cried during two parts also. LOL

I cried when Steve's dad and the other missionaries were killed and at the end when when Mincayani took Steve to his father's plane. That whole scene was awesome!
