It's Friday!!!!

Well I had planned to type this whole message out, but thankfully I found the video of it on another blog. I had originally heard this during a message Brian Baer preached. He played the video during his message. It was a different video then this one though.

No Need To Mourn!!!!

My mom reads the newspaper everyday to see who has passed away. My aunt sent this obituary to me, but there is no need to mourn over this person. I know, what a cruel thing to say, but you will understand it at the end of this blog.

Calvary

Jesus Christ, 33, of Nazareth, died Friday on Mount Calvary, also known as Golgotha, the place of the skull. Betrayed by his disciple Judas, Jesus was crucified by the Romans, by order of the Ruler Pontius Pilate. The causes of death were crucifixion, extreme exhaustion, severe torture, and loss of blood.

Jesus Christ, a descendant of Abraham, was a member of the house of David. He was the Son of the late Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth, and Mary, His devoted Mother. Jesus was born in a stable in the city of Bethlehem, Judea. He is survived by His mother Mary, His faithful Apostles, numerous disciples, and many other followers.

Jesus was self educated and spent most of his adult life working as a Teacher. Jesus also occasionally worked as a Medical Doctor and it is reported that he healed many patients. Up until the time of His death, Jesus was teaching and sharing the Good News, healing the sick, touching the lonely, feeding the hungry, and helping the poor.

Jesus was most noted for telling parables about His Father's Kingdom and performing miracles, such as feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, and healing a man who was born blind. On the day before His death, He held a Last Supper celebrating the Passover Feast, at which He foretold His death.

The body was quickly buried in a stone grave, which was donated by Joseph of Arimathea, a loyal friend of the family. By order of Pontius Pilate, a boulder was rolled in front of the tomb. Roman soldiers were put on guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone try to live as Jesus did. Donations may be sent to anyone in need.

Mark 16:5 & 6 says this....

And entering into the sepulchre (the grave), they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. (v. 5)

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. (v. 6)

So there is no need to mourn his death, because he is not dead, he is risen.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Well, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!! This St. Patrick's day was like a three day weekend. My family and I went to our local parade (this was their second time having it). They had a pipe band come down from Columbus, Ohio. They also added a marching band this year. We had a great time. Besides wearing green on Saturday (and having some of my hair green), I wore green yesterday and today. I have been listening to Irish music all day and that is because of my cousin Jon. Thanks Jon for the information.

Here is a video of a group, that I heard yesterday. I hope you enjoy The High Kings singing Marie's Wedding (It really sounds like they are saying Mary instead of Marie).

Please Run Over Me!!!!!

Our pastor at church wanted us to start studying a chapter in the Bible everyday in the month of March. So one of the first chapters that I studied was Psalm 23. I love that Psalm.
So as I was studying it, I ran into something very interesting. I had heard it before, but did not realize the intense meaning of one word. In Psalm 23:6 it says this.....
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."
The word follow, in Hebrew is radaph (pronounced as raw-daf) meaning to run after (usually with hostile intent). It can also mean to chase, hunt or persecute. When we think of the word hostile we think not friendly, warm or generous or showing ill will to someone. But in this scripture it says, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow (to run after usually with hostile intent) me all the days of my life....."
You know I don't like to be mistreated in any way. I don't want my family to be mistreated, but when I think about goodness and mercy. Well, I just feel like screaming at the top of my lungs, "Go ahead God, run me over with your goodness and mercy. Hunt me down and persecute me with it." I think goodness and mercy is a good way of being harassed.
