OWEN HART DAY!!!!!!

Eight years ago today Owen Hart died. I am not going to do a big outlined of his wrestling accomplishments. I will do a brief outline then I will speak more from the heart.

Owen James Hart was born May 7, 1965 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Stu and Helen Hart. He was the youngest of twelve children. Owen was trained by his father Stu and debuted on May 30, 1986. He first started out in Stampede Wrestling his father's company. But he mostly spent his wrestling career in the WWF (now WWE).

To me the greatest moment in his career was when the Hart Foundation was reformed. Bret Hart (Owen's brother) was the ringleader, and the group was rounded out with Owen, Davey Boy Smith (Bret's and Owen's brother-in-law), Jim Neidhart (Bret's and Owen's brother-in-law) and Brian Pillman. Owen was a great wrestler and Owen never needed the stupid WWE championship title to make him a true winner, because even if he never held the title he was a winner in everyone's heart.

Owen Hart was my favorite wrestler. I use to love Owen's brother Bret, but it was not until after Owen died that I realized that Owen was truly my number 1 pick. I just wish I could have met him.

The night he died, and a news reporter came on TV and said a wrestler had died at a pay-per-view event, I never expected it to be Owen. I thought it had to be this hardcore wrestler named Mick Foley that had done something and got himself killed. When the news finally told who had died, it was Owen. The worst part is, it was a tragic event that should have never happened, but it did. And it left us all with a broken heart. But today when I signed on to Myspace I read a bulletin from Owen's niece that said we should make today a celebration of Owen's life and that is what I want to make it. To remember the good things about Owen.

I made a video for this day, and it shows what kind of man Owen was. My cousin told me to use the song "If tomorrow never comes", but I used the the song "The Dance". In the song it says, "But if I'd only known how the king would fall." Owen Hart's nickname was "The King of Harts", so this song is fit for a king. Owen Hart Tribute Video (Click Here)

Owen Hart's Championships and Accomplishments...
  • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship (1 time)
  • Stampede British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Championship (1 time)
  • Stampede North American Heavyweight Championship (2 times)
  • Stampede International Tag Team Championship (1 time)-with brother-in-law Ben Bassarab
  • USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship (1 time)
  • WWF (now WWE) European Championship (1 time)
  • WWF (now WWE) Intercontinental Championship (2 times)
  • WWF (now WWE) World Tag Team Championship (4 times)-with Yokozuna (2), British Bulldog (1) and Jeff Jarrett (1)
  • WWF (now WWE) King of the Ring (1994)

To fill in the gaps for you folks that don't know. The Hart Foundation members were trained by Stu Hart. Davey Boy Smith was married to Bret Hart's and Owen Hart's sister Diana. Davey died May the 18Th of 2002. Brian Pillman was friends with the Hart family, he died October the 5Th of 1997. So you see this is a hard month not only for people in the wrestling community, but for the Hart family and the last two members (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) of the Hart Foundation.

I miss Owen too! He was definitely a special guy.

I was just thinking how hard May 23rd must be on Jeff Jarrett now. He lost his former tag team partner and friend on this date and now his wife eight years later on the same date.
