Blah!!!

That is how I have felt lately. Not wanting to post any new blogs. I was doing good and at least coming over and reading blogs, but I haven't done that for a little while. So in the spirit of Blah, here is a video. Hope you enjoy the song, a man that use to come to our church would sing this for altar call sometimes.

It's Amazing What A Prayer Can Do

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

The above photo shows how prayer can save lives. If it had not been for the prayers of a family, that God would keep his protecting hand on their family member. Then the person driving this car might have been killed. IT'S JUST AMAZING WHAT A PRAYER CAN DO!!!!!!!!!! I've been wanting to share the lyrics of this song for awhile. The other day I wrote the words down so I could post them on here.

It's Amazing What A Prayer Can Do
Written by Mike Upright

There was a king who got a letter.
A mighty army with number.
He spread it out, there for the Lord to get a view.
God sent a prophet and just one angel.
The devil's army split into.
IT'S JUST AMAZING WHAT A PRAYER CAN DO!

Chorus: Its moved mountains, parted rivers, brought the dead to life again.
I've called upon an old prayer warrior a time or two.
If your in trouble, I'll go down on my bended knee for you.
IT'S JUST AMAZING WHAT A PRAYER CAN DO!

I've seen a momma and a baby.
He fought for life the whole night through.
It seemed all hope was gone,
Oh how the tears did fall, not just a few.
But there's ole' grandpa over in the corner.
He knew the blood would pull him through.
And that baby's still alive to show what prayer can do.

Chorus: Its moved mountains, parted rivers, brought the dead to life again.
I've called upon an old prayer warrior a time or two.
If your in trouble I'll go down on my bended knee for you.
IT'S JUST AMAZING WHAT A PRAYER CAN DO!!!!!!!

Sin Is To Blame

One day while at our little Monday morning prayer meeting we were singing, "Where Could I Go?" After we were finished someone said something about the song on the opposite page. And they read a few of the verses. That song is called, "Sin Is To Blame." I have never heard it before or even noticed it before in the song book, but I read all the verses one night and decided to share it with you.

Sin Is To Blame
Written by J. H. Vernon

1. See yonder man in the prison he dwells,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
List to the story he plaintively tells,
Sin is to blame for all.

Chorus: Sin is to blame for all sorrow,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
Have you no hopes for tomorrow?
Sin is to blame for it all.

2. Many dear children are crying for bread,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
Father's a drunkard and mother is dead,
Sin is to blame for all.

Chorus: Sin is to blame for all sorrow,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
Have you no hopes for tomorrow?
Sin is to blame for it all.

3. Heartbroken mothers all sad and alone,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
Helpless and needy, no place to call home,
Sin is to blame for all.

Chorus: Sin is to blame for all sorrow,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
Have you no hopes for tomorrow?
Sin is to blame for it all.

4. Thousands refuse to accept His free grace,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
All who reject Him have chosen their place,
Sin is to blame for all.

Chorus: Sin is to blame for all sorrows,
Sin is to blame, sin is to blame,
Have you no hopes for tomorrow?
Sin is to blame for it all.

Humble

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 1 Peter 5:6

Humble: Marked by meekness or modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit; not arrogant or prideful.

When I think of the word humble, I think of a lot of different people. One person has stuck out in my mind since our camp meeting. Ever since I was a small child we have always had these two big chairs sitting on the stage at our camp meeting. Those two seats have always been for the preacher who was preaching and for the general superintendent to sit in.

This camp meeting I would sometimes noticed that our general superintendent Paul Hagen would start the service off by sitting in his assigned seat, but then sometime during service he would get up and move behind the seat and sit on one of the choir pews. He might have thought no one noticed, but I would always see him. Even though Paul is a preacher, he is a quiet man, unless he is preaching. He's not really big on the spot light. Watching him change seats during service, made me realize how humble he is. I don't know if he felt like he was drawing attention to his self by sitting in the big seat, I wish I would have ask him. It made me think that I should not want attention, but I should be humble because eventually God will exalt me in time.

In the photo Paul is the one between the arrows.

Movie Review: "End of the Spear"

Friday night I watched the movie "End of the Spear." I had been wanting to see it for awhile and I finally ask my cousin Marcy to order it for me from Netflix. The movie made me think and challenged me to forgive others. I will say I cried on two different occasions and I am not a crier.

The movie is about Operation Acura, in which five American Christian missionaries attempted to evangelize to the Waodani people of the jungle of Ecuador. The movie tells the story of Mincayani, one of the tribesmen who killed the missionaries, and Steve Saint, the son of one of the missionaries. The two eventually form a bond that continues to this day.

My favorite quote from the movie is, "Son, we can't shoot the Waodani. They're not ready for Heaven, we are." When I heard that quote, I just started to tear up. Also at the end of the movie they show the real Steve Saint and the real Mincayani, when Mincayani came and visited the United States. I loved the little story that Steve Saint told about Mincayani. He said while they were here in the U.S. that they went to the grocery store. When Mincayani went back home he was telling his wife that people in the U.S. doesn't go out and hunt. His wife told him he was crazy and ask how people in the U.S. get food. He went on to tell that we go to big food warehouses and get food. Then he said you go to a line where a young person stands and you smile great big and at first they don't pay attention to you, then they see you and they smile back and then they give you the food. Steve Saint told Mincayani that you had to give the person something in order to get the food and he pulled out his credit card and handed it to the young lady. And Mincayani said, "Oh no, they just give it right back to you." I thought that was so cute, because he thinks we get free food. That would be nice, wouldn't it? LOL!!!

I have not blogged since the other day (September the 11th) and I haven't read any blogs for a few days. I haven't been feeling well. I've been having light headed spells and they seem to be the worse when I am on the computer or I'm walking around. Please say a little prayer for me. Thanks!!!
