Thanks to your son!!! (LOL!!!)

We had one of the strangest things happen to us last night. When we was leaving from Kroger some guy behind us started yelling at us. We couldn't understand what he was yelling. So we just went on. Well when we stopped at the red light he pulled right next to us and my dad actually rolled the window down. The next thing we know the guy said, "Thanks to your son!" OK that had us really confused, my mom said she almost said, "You know my son?" Then it slowly hit us all...

My dad back in June bought our van off of some guy. Well on the back of the van there is a bumper sticker that says, "My Son Is In The U.S. Army." Well the thing is, I have two brothers but neither one is in the army. So even though we have received a really good laugh from the strange guy. We also think that it was a really nice thing that he done, because he wanted to show appreciation to my mom and dad on Veteran's Day for their son! (But really it wasn't their son, lol.)

What I have learned about the devil.

Ah, I've jumped right back into the the titles that is going to grab people's attentions.

First things first these are a few things I've picked up from my pastor (Paul Hagen). How tall is the devil? Oh he is about two inches tall because he stands on your shoulder and whispers into your ear. Also if you give the devil an inch he'll be your ruler.

Here is what I've learned from the Bible about the devil. In Luke 4:1-13 when Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness the old devil came along and started to tempt him (Jesus). And the Bible says this...

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, if thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: (v. 9)

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: (v. 10)

And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (v. 11)

In verse 10 it plainly says the devil said, "for it is written." This is what I've learned. If the devil said that, then he quoted scripture. You know what that means? The devil knows the Bible. So if the devil knows it, we need to know it more because when he comes around whispering, we (and I personally) don't want to listen to what he is trying to do to us.

It still makes me sick when I think about the so called preacher who told his people they didn't need to learn scripture. Folks we NEED to know it. I NEED TO KNOW IT!!! I battle all the time and my good friends tell me all the time I need to quote the scripture so that way my mind won't be idle. It's true what they say, "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And if you don't know, the mind is a battlefield and the Bible is a sword to use to fight on/in that battlefield.

Ephesians 6:17 says...

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Lets prepare to win!!!

God's Painting!!!

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Psalm 19:1

When I was a kid I didn't much care about the beauty of God's creation. Since I've aged some what (LOL), I stand in awe of God's painting. More and more ofter I'll talk about how amazing and brilliant the sky is and the colors that God shows us. And speaking of colors, I love colors. I think one of the strangest questions I was ask one time was, "Do you dream in color?" My reply was, "Yeah doesn't everyone?!?!" I guess some actually dream in black and white. I'm glad that when I see God's canvas, I can see the colors!

Humor For God

Sometimes I wonder if God gets a good laugh from us? I have two stories to hit home why I wonder this. One day when I was out with my friend and her littler girl, my friend asked her little girl to say prayer over the meal. Well she didn't want too. So my friend ask me. I started thanking God for the day and I was almost finished when I realized that I didn't thank God for the meal. So I said, "Thank you God for the hands that performed, I mean performed, per... thanks for the food." After I was finished I said prepared and I wondered why I couldn't say it while praying.

Then one night I was praying, thanking God for his blessings on my family and I. I try never to fail to mention the roof over my head and the food and clothes and shoes on our feet. Well this night I was sorta tired and I thanked God for the clothes, shoes and food on our feet. LOL! I hope I made God laugh at least I know I did.

Our Hospital and Germs

I believe that we have the dumbest hospital in the world. That is one reason why I never go to the doctor. I don't want to go to the dumbest hospital for tests. The reason why I say this is the other night I was at the hospital and went to use the restroom. Well when I was finished I turned the hot water on. While I was waiting for the hot water to get hot I was reading the instructions how to wash your hands to reduce the spread of germs (I already know how to wash my hands but I needed something to do). Well the hot water never did get hot, so I washed my hands in cold water. Then I go out of the bathroom looking for a hand sanitizer dispenser and there is none. Needless to say I was pretty ticked off that there was no hot water.

When I got back to the room where my family was I decided to use the sink in the room. But to my dismay the water didn't get hot there either. And to add more to the situation when someone has a baby they are suppose to give you hand sanitizer to use on your hands before holding the baby and they didn't and I even ask yesterday about it but I don't know if they got any or not. Also another little thing about this hospital, back in 1995 my dad kept going over there and they kept telling him he had a virus. Well he finally gave up going to that hospital and went to the hospital that is 45 minutes away and they told him his gall bladder needed to be taken out and that he could have died if he hadn't come when he did.
