I want to focus more on blogging about God. There will be sometimes that I will post a funny commercial (it is good to laugh) or tell stories about my family. So get ready for a wild ride with Starla! (FEEL FREE TO LEAVE A COMMENT)
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Psalm 139:5
I love reading Psalm 139, but verse 5 has always stood out to me. Recently this verse has become one of my favorite verses. I thought I would share the verse with everyone.
Well here lately this song has been playing a lot because it is a new release from The Booth Brothers. It is a great song. When I first heard it I didn't think much about the song. The music is so laid back and I really didn't listen to it. Even if I wasn't listening to it very closely it was becoming one of my favorite. Isn't that odd, now every time I hear it, I truly listen to the words of the song. I hope you enjoy this song, "What Salvation's Done For Me" by The Booth Brothers.
I titled this blog prayer and who am I asking prayer for, well myself. I've been having a bad couple of days. I've let my mind take control of my feelings. I have a good family that I know loves me. But I let what other people (not my family) have said to me in the past really get me down. I've come to the realization because of myself that I don't want to make jokes of where someone is from or how they act. Because in secret the jokes maybe killing them inside.
I live in America where I've found out that I don't have an opinion. I can't be a critic, because some people can't handle the critic side of me. All I have to say is don't get in the business brother! Because there will be worse people then me. So I live in America where I have no freedom of speech and I've been told that I'm stupid and if I'm not told that, then my mind screams and tells me stuff from the past.
So I'm asking people I don't even know to pray for me. I would like to see the sun shine again. I would like God to point me in the right direction.
A month ago when I was staying with my papaw, his pastor came to visit him. I don't really know what exactly we were talking about, but he told me the song "The Love of God" the last verse of the song was found wrote on the wall of an insane asylum by an inmate. That verse says this...
Could we with ink the ocean fill And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill And every man a scribe by trade.
To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry;
Not could the scroll contain the whole Tho stretched from sky to sky.
This person had to at some time during their life seen the love of God. 1 John 4:12 says this...
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:12)
No one has seen God but if we show love then God dwells with us. So if he dwells with us, then people have to see God through our love. There have been many times that I have seen many people claim to be Christians who does not share God's love. I've seen people speak badly of other people, say hurtful things and called people terrible names and that is not showing God's love. I've seen people shun others because they are different. In fact, I read this verse and say, "oh my what have I done?" I see how I have been annoyed with people or said things I shouldn't. 1 Corinthians 13:4 says this "Charity (love) suffereth long, and is kind;" love is patient and kind.
Lately when I've been down, I've thought of the love of God. God is patient with me and he is kind and I don't deserve it. I tell him how much I love him, but I know as much as I love him he loves me more. Sometimes when I feel like no one cares, I know God cares. I was thinking the other day how much Jacob in the Bible loved his son Joseph. That is how much God loves us, but unlike Jacob, God can share his love with everyone. He doesn't dote to one person more than another. He makes us all feel special.
The other night I watched a very interesting documentary called "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed." The film hosted by Ben Stein questions evolution and its theories. I totally agree with Ben Stein that we are losing our freedom of speech because we who believe in creationism are consider the bad guys. There were a few things that confused me. If we have freedom of speech, then why can't we question evolution and why was it OK for Charles Darwin to question creationism but as I said can't question evolution? Also the other confusing part is Richard Dawkins who is an atheist and believes in evolution stated at the end of the documentary that we could have been made by a higher power, but that higher power is not God. What? Doesn't Richard Dawkins know that atheists don't believe in God, any god, or higher power!!!! I think Richard Dawkins may be a little confused.
Another question I have, if we evolved from monkeys, then why are there still monkeys around today??? That part didn't come from the movie, I've just heard other people say it. But now I'm wondering about it.
Genesis 18:14 "Is any thing too hard for the Lord?"
I have always liked this statement, is any thing too hard for the Lord? God ask this question to Abraham because he didn't believe that he and his wife could have a child in their old age. The question was answered when Sarah delivered a baby boy whom they named Isaac. (Genesis 21:1-3).
Years ago I read a book that Tim Greene (of The Greenes) had wrote. Tim had became very sick because of mold and he was a the verge of dying. I can't remember everything about the book because as I said it has been years since I've read it. But one thing that stands out in my mind was a part in the book when Tim told about being at the hospital. They didn't know what was wrong with him and the doctor stepped out in the hallway and there was other doctors in the hallway also and they started to take bets on how long Tim would live. I guess they didn't think that Tim could hear them but he heard every word.
Well Tim Greene is still alive today! And I was thinking yesterday, if I was Tim Greene I would have to march into that hospital where he had been and find that one doctor and then I would stand and say, "IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR GOD?" Tim Greene is a living testament that nothing is too hard for God.
I know I have posted other videos about Jacob Berry before. But I came across this video about a month ago and I had decided I wanted to share the video with the people who read my blog. This video tells more about Jacob and his life. I hope it will be a blessing to everyone.
